Mexican food in Barcelona has been difficult to find. Rosa Negra caught my eye because of its´coloful kitsch décor and many friends highly recommended the food. Since my first visit, I frequently go during lunch time and take advantage of the 8 Euro Menu.

The guacamole is especially fresh and has that tad of lemon juice that makes it so good. If you are on a budget, the Menu offers a good selection of dishes, the quantity is reasonable, and the price is cheap. For dessert I recommend the mousse de cáfe (coffee mousse). It´s creamy texture and coffee flavor ends a good meal on a high note. The waiters at Rosa Negra are friendly, efficient, and quick at serving their customers.

Last week I posted a comment about the Rosa Negra Mexican restaurant. I wanted to include a comment about a bar that seems to have a friendly relationship with the mexican restaurant. I saw adverstisments for Milk and didn´t hesitate to scope the scene:

Milk, bar and bistro
Happy Hour Cocktails from 7 - 9pm
Address: Calle Gignas 21, 08002 Barcelona(next to Via Laietana).

The bar is really comfortable and offers some tasty dishes. I highly recommend the fish and chips. Milk is a good bar to start off the night on a good note and then head to Rosa Negra Mexican restaurant for a satisfying dinner. The guacamole at Rosa Negra is an excellent decision worth making.
